- A Baule couple sculpture, Ivory Coast, the statues standing on a rectangular base, muscular legs ending in prominent buttocks, wearing a loincloth encircling the hips, both have a slender torso with a pointed navel, the male has an emphasized pectoral muscles and nipples, the female hanging, tapering breasts, both have narrow rounded shoulders leading to fragile arms carved close to the body, the hands touching the abdomen, the toros is decorated with scarification marks of varied geometric patterns, the very long cylindrical neck supporting an elongated head, the male has an elongated goatee, both have a protruding mouth, a slender flat nose with a broad tip, large almond-shaped eyes with painted blackened pupils, the eyelids half closed, the striated high arched eyebrows connected...both sculptures capped by a striated crested coiffure.

- Measurements: 54.5 cm

- Condition: brown patina with remnants of kaolin, traces of age and ritual use.
