This is a vintage sculpture from the Lobi peoples, Burkina Faso, West Africa. Carved wooden image of a male and female in the act of love making. Known locally as "Bateba Betise", It is said that Lobi men are given this sculpture when looking for a wife and to avoid sterility. A powerful sculpture!
