- Cast plastic resin beads created to resemble precious Amber were made in Germany ca.1900's and traded throughout West Africa
- Used by Fulani in Mali and Mauritania as High Prestige and Dowry Currency.
- Bead Size Approx. W 32mm x L 33mm x 20mm
- This strand was lovingly restrung and knotted on fresh cotton cord by our staff in New York City. The turquoise color bead included is an 18-19th century Chinese Dowry Currency bead that was added to compliment the butterscotch yellows in the resin beads.
